Custom Power Steering Reservoir, Coolant Overflow and Brake Fluid Reservoirs

Whether you’re upgrading the original engine in your Model-A Ford, dropping a big block Chevy in your Deuce Coupe or swapping in a radical modern engine into your 60’s muscle car, if you’re working in the engine compartment, the devil is always in the details.

Sure the engine placement and transmission angle are key considerations, but the details and the accessories need to be addressed. When building a Hot Rod or Kustom, changing one component tends to cascade into more and more upgrades and changes.

Many times the new parts take up the original space left for essential reservoirs and accessories, and many times a “stock” reservoir just doesn’t fit or look right with all of the cool new parts.

Off the shelf components usually don’t fit properly either or need to be modified for the specific mounting location. You can search for days looking for just the right part – which doesn’t necessarily exist; this is when it’s time to design a custom reservoir to fit your vehicle mechanically and aesthetically.

This is one of my specialties – I have modified, designed and built dozens of reservoirs for every fluid on a vehicle, many times for less money than purchasing off the shelf parts.  Coolant Overflow Reservoirs, Power Steering Reservoirs, External Brake Fluid Reservoirs and fuel tanks can all be built to fit your vehicle or modified if you have a part you are starting with. Shoot me an email on the sidebar and we can discuss options.

Coolant Overflow Reservoir:

  • Does the new engine need a larger / better radiator than stock?
  • Does the new radiatior need a coolant overflow reservoir?
  • Where will it go?
  • How large does it need to be?
  • What type of fittings does it require?

Power Steering Reservoir:

  • Does the new engine / chassis have power steering?
  • Does it need a power steering reservoir?
  • Where will it go?
  • How large does it need to be?
  • How much does it need to flow?
  • What type of fittings does it require?

External Brake Fluid Reservoir:

  • Does the new brake system need an external reservoir?
  • Where will it go?
  • How large does it need to be?
  • How much does it need to flow?
